Nowadays, we have already known that the growth of the technology has been growing much bigger. In the educational side, we can see that the use of the technology has been adapted in the daily learning. This has affected every teacher to master the ICT skills in enhancing their teaching. There are several advantages of the ICT skills for teachers, such as in delivering teaching materials, adding additional teaching materials, and enhancing the effectiveness of their teaching.
First, teachers do not have to copy their teaching materials, for they can use Laptop to present their teaching materials that have been packed in pdf, documents, and slides. Then the teachers can also use Infocus to display their teaching materials. By doing or using those two media, teachers do not have to copy or distribute the printed materials.
Second, it is not a must for teachers to rely on the materials that the headmaster or curriculum has decided. Blogging is one of the sources of the additional way for adding information. We have known that there are a lot of bloggers who post their information, especially in education. Another way is using websites, a bit different from blogging which is similar to a diary. Websites put more specific in one side, such as education, health, economy, etc.
Finally, teachers can enhance the effectiveness of their teaching. Teachers who teach Chemistry or Statistics need to use softwares. For example, students of Chemistry do not have to do experiment in the laboratory, for they can use MatLab software. Teachers can also use video call facility to deliver their teaching, so when they cannot attend the class, the students will go online to do the video call learning.
In brief, the need of the ICT skills is a must for teachers because there are a lot of advantages of using the technology. These advantages will be very useful in their daily teaching. By using technology, the education system in Indonesia will be better, hopefully.
